New reduced price down from $250- I need to sell. Asking $210 but all reasonable offers will be considered.
For sale: My silver Panasonic Sport that I think is from the late 70's- early 80's . It's in very good condition overall.
-Brake pads are still thick and the brakes have just recently been tightened up. Cables are in good condition, as are calipers.
-I've added fenders for rainy riding.
-Comfortable grip taped handlebars. (This can cut this off on the spot if you don't want it.)
-Toe-clips
-Single speed covert. It was quick job, but really made the bike easier to ride in the city. The chain was shortened and is now fixed at a single speed running on the original sprockets.
-Quick-releases on both wheels.
This is very cool, vintage-ish bike, perfect for this city. Since it's a simple road bike, it has thin tires which means much less road friction than the thicker tires you'd get on a hybrid or a moutainbike. This bike is quite energy efficient bike, easy to ride and control, and it's fast.
Panasonic bikes are durable. I have never blown a tube or damaged a wheel, even riding in heavy conditions like mid-town traffic on many occasion. I replaced the tires when I bought the bike 4 years ago, and have never changed them, but replace the tubes annually.
I have not ridden the bike for the past 2 years due to an illness, but during this time the bike has been stored indoors, as it has exclusively for the entire time I've owned it.
The only damage is cosmetic. It has some minor scratches on the frame, and the stickers with the name of model type are warn off, and the seat as a few tears but they have been like that or years, and are not expanding.
Specs: Height- 32", Length- 68" Wheels 27'"
This bike would suit someone between 5' 7"' and 6'1" of average weight or a bit stocky. I'm 5'10 and the frame size is perfect for me. Although not exactly a racing bike, this is still a sport bike made for efficiency and speed, and not a cruiser made for comfort. Still, I've spent ten hours riding this bike and been perfectly comfortable. This bike has been ridden, but it has not been ridden hard, and it is obvious that it has many more years of life left. I will miss it.
$210 OBO. Cash only- no exceptions. Please or email text 347 549 xxxx to set-up time for viewing.
